SCAR RELEASE THERAPY

Helping You Get Healthy

Scars affect the normal functioning of the body and may lead to reduced movement and pain.  Research is showing that scars contribute to chronic pain.

We see the scar on the surface, but what we don't see are the internal adhesions it has caused.  These adhesions can occur along any injury pathway, disrupting the natural balance of the body.

WHAT KIND OF SCAR SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT?

ALL kinds of scars!

Surgeries ~ C-section, appendectomy, tummy tuck, ACL reconstruction...

Accidents ~ car accidents, falls, sports injuries, trauma

Injuries ~ sprains, fractures, muscle strains and/or injury

WHATS MY SCAR GOT TO DO WITH IT?

WHAT WE SEE ON THE SURFACE IS ONLY THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG!

Scars can result in a tightening of the tissues ~ the skin, fascia, muscles, connective tissues.

This limits motion and function of an affect limb or part of the body. Adhesions that we don't see can spread under the skin, travelling through tissues and affecting underlying systems & even organs.

Under the Iceberg

  • Scars interrupt circulation and lymphatic flow

  • Scars block energetic flow through the meridians

  • Scars injure the fascia

  • Scars result in adhesions and sticky spots where tissues can't glide (imagine a tack pinning the tissues down)

  • Scars up regulate the nervous system - increasing stress response, reducing vagal tone & reducing heart rate variability

WHAT NOW?

SCAR RELEASE METHOD involves using micro-current drawn through the scar.

The term ‘release’ refers to the releasing or relaxing contracted and tightened tissue, and the re-polarization of tissues.  When coupled with manual release work, this method significantly reduces the restrictions of scar tissue.

Treatment is well tolerated and usually painless.  Treatment sees adhesions, scar tissue and dead cells broken down by the body, with increased circulation to the area. Patients see visible changes in the appearance of the scar, noticing a reduction in the tightness of the tissues at the site, and reduction in pain symptoms caused by the scar.

Scar Release Method is clinically proven to reduce chronic pain caused by the scar mechanism by 73 to 80% in 1 to 3 treatments! (source: MPS Therapy)

C-SECTION SCARS

Did you know that more than 100 000 C-sections are performed each year in Canada? Almost 1 in 5 will develop chronic scar pain.*

Scar Release method reduces this pain.
